There are a total of 78 cards in a Tarot deck. The first 22 are considered the Major Arcana and the remaining 56 are considered as the Minor Arcana. Now you are probably saying "What is the Major and Minor Arcana?" The Major Arcana means that these are the cards that have the most important information; while the Minor Arcana means that the cards are of less importance information wise.

Major Arcana:These cards are the mysteries or secrets of the universe, so that means these cards are the most complex and require more diligence to understand. They can also be called Trumps. These cards have titles such as:
  • The Magician
  • The Empress
  • The Lovers
  • The Moon
  • The Tower
  • Etc.

These cards are numbered from 0 (The Fool) to 21 (The World). Some people describe the Major Arcana as the path to enlightenment (The Fools journey). Beginning with The Fool - which is the innocent and initial step of the journey- and ending with The World - which signifies wisdom and completion.

Minor Arcana: This portion of the deck is originally used for fortune-telling. It contains 4 suits of 14 cards in each suit. These cards are:
  • Wands
  • Pentacles
  • Swords
  • And Cups

Each of the 4 suits contain 4 court cards:
  • King
  • Queen
  • Knight
  • And Page

The 4 suits also contain number cards Ace through 10 (also called Pip cards). These cards are extremely accurate about answering questions about the here and now, because they refer to aspects of everyday life and human experience. These cards show everyday concerns, situations, challenges, and achievements you may experience. They also present advice and describe conditions and possibilities related to the subject of the reading.

An ending note; Say you pull all cards from the Minor Arcana. That means that your life is in your own hands and your decisions and actions will produce your future. If there are any questions please let me know ^_^

I'm not the best at Tarot XD and I have a question
Is it wrong if I only use the Major Arcana for readings? and does it really matter how I lay it out,? Cause I only use the Major and I developed my own spread that seems to work pretty good for me XD I was just curious if this is technically wrong in Tarot or what? XD

It's fine to just use the Major Arcana although the Minor Arcana give more information and they are story telling cards. And you can make up any spread you want or you can look them up on the internet or whatever works best for you.
